Weston Golf and Country Club

Weston Golf and Country Club dates to 1909, when founder John Lindsay first laid out a course on land beside the Humber River; the club acquired the adjoining Wadsworth mill property in 1915 and built a nine-hole course, with remnants of the old millrace still visible on today's fairways. In 1920, Scottish architect Willie Park Jr. designed an expanded 18-hole layout that incorporated the piers of a historic 1850s railway bridge, most famously on the second hole. Arnold Palmer won the 1955 Canadian Open at Weston — his first professional tournament victory — cementing the club's place in Canadian golf history. The current clubhouse was built in the mid-1960s. Weston remains a private, member-only club in Toronto's northwest end and does not offer public tee times.
